NOVA were recently approached by our client to conduct a 3D Laser Scan of an existing process area in a Food Processing Plant to evaluate the installation of a new machine.
Using our FARO Focus 3D Laser scanner we captured the existing plant into a 3D Point Cloud. This was merged with the 3D CAD model of the new machine installation to justify enabling work requirements to the existing facility, before the delivery and installation of the new machine.
The 3D Point Cloud was processed into an Autodesk ReCap file and merged with the 3D CAD data of the machine using Autodesk Navisworks.
Following design review meetings with the supply chain, the Autodesk Inventor Product Suite will be used to create 2d drawings for enabling works and site installation drawings.
